The Breaking News on Thursday, was the defensive back Patrick Peterson has been suspended six games due to a performance enhancing drug violation. The eight time pro-bowler; whom is a staple on the Cardinals defense, will now miss his first game in his NFL career due to this suspension. Peterson has already said that he will not appeal this suspension.

According to reports, Peterson knew this was coming and that is why he requested an extension from GM Steve Keim earlier this offseason. Peterson did not want to take any financial losses.

Following this news, the Cardinals defensive backs room takes a large hit. Arizona went out and signed Robert Alford this offseason from the Atlanta Falcons. The Cards also drafted defensive back Byron Murphy out of Washington with the first pick in the second round in this year's draft. Arizona covered their bases more with the pick of Deionte Thompson to begin the fifth round as well.

With this breaking news, it will be interesting to see what else GM Steve Keim can do to strength the DB Room.

Now the two largest questions will be, how does the defense look week one at home against the Detroit Lions? The second question, has Patrick Peterson played his last game in a Cardinals uniform?
